FAQ

There are plenty of questions that are asked not just of us, But of all Airbrush Artists and Painters, here are some clear and concise answers to help out. Got some questions thats aren't answered here? Why not email us, and if they are approriate we will add them to the list!

Q) I want something painted, what will it cost?

A) There are many factors affecting the price. What is the object? What condition is it in? Is it to be painted one colour or several? What colour? (Colours actually affect the cost of materials. Many custom paints are multi-layer and as such, a lot more materials are required). Will there be effects or airbrushing involved? (This is a very labour intensive process)
We will include a basic pricing schedule on the website soon, it will just be a basic outline only

Q) I just got my Bike / Car / Goat Painted, how do I care for the new paintjob?

A) Great question ! We will give you a detailed outline of the care of your new paintjob when you pick it up. Basically the important things to remember is keep it clean, never use "waterless" products. We use and recommend Meguires cleaning and polishing products. We are not endorsed by Meguires but simply through years of car / bike care we know what works and what does't have an adverse impact on the paint!

Q) Why does it take so long to get my Bike / Car / Goat painted?

A) There are plenty of reasons that exceed the original quoted time frame. Weather, availability of products ( a lot of these products come from the USA and sometimes there are shipping delays) and invariably sometimes chemical reaction issues, if the surface has previously been painted, is fresh out of a mould, or if the object has been polished with silicone based products, there can be adverse reactions which require complete removal of paint for refinishing to ensure a high quality end product!

Q) Why does it cost so much?

A) Because it takes so long........ Also quality work cannot be rushed, cutting corners or rushig the cure time of paint products can lead to poor finish, or worse a short life span of the finish. The costs of refinishing materials, in particular Custom Paint finishes has dramatically increased over the last few years (and so has some of the dramatic effects and finishes available)
The old addage " You Get What You Pay For " is very true, anyone can pick up a rattlecan and shoot paint. To get a quality and long lasting job requires time and exceptional attention to detail.

Q) What things can you paint on?

A) We specialise in hard surface Painting and Airbrushing, on just about anything. Objects made of metal ,plastic and wood can be painted on.

Q) Why should I get my Bike / Car / Goat Painted / Airbrushed?

A) No one should tell you to paint your pride and joy, but if you want the ultimate way to individualise your ride then Custom Paint is for you!

Q) Ok I'm ready to get started what do I need to do?

A) First we need to do an estimate, For this we need to inspect the item, assess any repairs needed, determine the colour/s to be used and get an out line of any designs / artwork to go on the item. If you have reference pictures of similar artwork / designs, or elements you would like included, please bring them along or email them in advance.

Q) I have heaps of mates that want to get custom paint / this is a racebike think of all the "free advertising" will you do me a special price?

A) NO! Sorry but I think just about every custom painter has fallen into this trap. If however you do have several potential customers, you may be considered for a "spotters fee" this is only offered at our discretion and the terms are to be arranged in advance.
If you believe you have a potential for advertising, feel free to supply a proposal for sponsorship and it will be considered.
